    Wow great job 👍🏼 i am trying to acheive similar doir with Zenwood acoustics slat panels. I just cant find a way to install the sugatsune hinge properly. To avoid the door slats crushing the wall ones i would have to keep a 3/4" gap between the 2. Any idea of what am i doing wrong ?

    So the machine is basically crap? Two more years since you made this video, what are your thoughts now? What I take from your video is that the bolts unscrew themselves, the ceramic bearings are shit, the saw vibrates and the wheel base is useless? You said "those are the things I love about this machine" but what are those things exactly?

    • @DesignCraftWorkshop
      @DesignCraftWorkshop 5 днів тому

      There are some updates I think Laguna should make especially the bearing, which is probably the biggest factor since it effects the cut quality. The wheel base isn't useless, but it would help with mobility if there were 4 swiveling wheels if you're in a small shop and need to have it move around. I'm in a larger shop now and the machine doesn't move from it's location. Overal, the machine cuts great as long as you set it up propertly like any other bandsaw. I still have the machine and haven't needed to upgrade to anything larger.

  • @gg-vm1oh
    @gg-vm1oh 16 днів тому

    A European customer would not accept this quality. You Americans nailed everything, you paste it, and then paint it on the spot. You also greased the door so that the projection hinge is already on it. I'm sorry, but that's undemanding. In Europe, we plan everything in advance. We calculate the size of the components in advance, then manufacture them and glue the cabinets together with foreign pins. Maybe this furniture looks good on video, and many people don't even know what I'm talking about. Unfortunately, there are many such UA-camrs.

    Great video! At 28:47 (or close) you show the final wall with what appears to be a large AV receiver. One of my current challenges is finding a media cabinet that is deep enough to not only hold the AV receiver, but also has enough depth for the cables that come straight out the back. My AV receiver (Yamaha Aventage A8A is huge!). needs approximately 18" just for the amp, and another 2" for the cables. How did you manage to push your amp all the way back to the back of your media wall?

    • @DesignCraftWorkshop
      @DesignCraftWorkshop Місяць тому

      Thanks! There's actually not a receiver for the system. Most of the cables are connected to the TV so that helps. The in-wall box keeps all the cables tidy.

    Why is it expected of architects to not sleep, eat enough and have unorganized lives, being slaves of their profession? It's so counter productive and unnecessarily inhumaine. Also, newer buildings and contemporary architecture is uniform, boring, unnatural and inhumaine...like the working hours. Maybe if the way architects worked changed, the buildings would change as well. Maybe the designs are a reflection of the designers. Also architects usually don't think about the environment of the building (and I don't mean other buildings and artificial objects). Designing the greenery around the buildings should be 50% of the work. Big cities are degenerating people in their current state, it should change.

    I have to admit, it was painful to watch those big, beautiful built-in book cases get sealed up forever. I almost clicked, "NEXT!". LOL Think of the possibilities! Safe/hiding space? Adult beverage bar? Gun safe space? Kid's toy storage? Pre-company clean up dump space? Emergency supplies? Zombie apocalypse Prep kits? Christmas present hiding spot? Years and years from now, someone is going to discover those walled up bookcases and scratch their head, for a very long time. I would &@$%# to have those spaces. Anyway, nice build. Beautiful result. I would add lighting behind the TV, the shelf under the TV, and under the cabinet kick plate to balance the lighting effects. 🤞🏽♥️😃🙏🏼 Don't Let Then Divide Us

    Ok... of all the review vids on the BX14, I'll leave my comment on this video. Just finished setting mine up, 220V version, and performing test cuts. Wow! Fantastic bandsaw. I cut a paper thin veneer, silky smooth finish, and fast like butter pushing through my 7" wide test piece of poplar (Resaw King 3/4" blade). Dunno why you'd replace the ceramic guides. As for the tension indicator, yeah, it's kinda hack-job, but it (a magnet) is effective when properly placed as per instructions.

    • @DesignCraftWorkshop
      @DesignCraftWorkshop 2 місяці тому

      The key to your success was you just finished setting up yours. Out of the box, the guides were great for mine as well. After awhile...not so great. Hence why I swapped it out.

    • @DesignCraftWorkshop
      @DesignCraftWorkshop 2 місяці тому

      Ceiling bright white is just the color. The quality of the paint is in the product itself. They have a range of different types of paint that will meet different requirments for your project.

      @@DesignCraftWorkshop SW ceiling paint is called Ceiling Bright White. I just purchased several gallons last week. I always use SW Emerald Urethane when painting cabinets or furniture. Which paint do you use?

    • @DesignCraftWorkshop
      @DesignCraftWorkshop 2 місяці тому

      @@kennedymueller1788 yes, SW has a ceiling paint product but it can be any color. Ceiling bright white just so happens to be one of the colors, SW 7007. I've been using the Emerald Urethane and it's been very good for painted furniture. If you're going toward more of a professional setting, I suggest a colored pre-catalyzed lacquer. It's much more durable but has a shelf life. Sherwin Williams makes it as well but only through certain stores.

    • @DesignCraftWorkshop

  • @adamkirkland4348

    The to point option is no longer there. In this case I can extrude to object and pick the face of the base but what if you need to extend to a point? Say on a bodie with a 45 chamfer and the cabinets needed to be linked to the inside edge of the chamfer?
